Having just shared the catwalk at the unveiling of Qasimi’s haute couture collection at London Fashion Week, VEEN has now joined Finnish Rock Band, Nightwish on their world tour.

Finland’s leading musical export, Nightwish have chosen smooth spring water, VEEN to accompany them on their world tour that started at the Brixton Academy in London last week. The tour goes on to Belgium, Holland, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Hungary, USA and back to Finland. To celebrate this friendship VEEN launched a competition on its website giving fans a chance to win concert tickets to a Nightwish gig of their choice and released a five-minute previously unseen video of the band rehearsing before the start of the tour.

First, strutting the ramp with the likes of Erin O’Connor, Yasmin Le Bon and Lily Cole, now rocking on tour with Nightwish – seems like an exciting year ahead for VEEN…

Did you know that Brazil houses the largest Japanese population outside of Japan?

Inspired by the two unique cultures and cuisines, Sushinho recently opened it doors on King’s Road in Chelsea. The restaurant is a brainchild of Oliver Girardet – a world traveller, gourmand and a fan of all things Latin American – Sushinho has become the destination of choice for those looking for a unique dining and drinking experience in London.

Sushinho’s menu reflects a blending of Japanese, Brazilian and European fare, it offers such exotic concoctions as sautéed lobster with chilli vinaigrette, miso salmon foie gras and crispy pork belly with feijoada bean purée. In addition to the restaurant, Sushinho features a downstairs lounge and bar that has been designed in a similar vein to its upstairs counterpart. It offers a selection of exotic cocktails unique to the restaurant including Sakeirinha, Gingerbread Slipper and Tropical Fruit Slings, courtesy of master mixologists and a music selection that offers unparalleled Samba tracks mixed with funky street beats.

VEEN emerged as a perfect match for this concept of Latin American Chic and practical efficient Japanese - just think smooth virginal spring water (best enjoyed at room temperature) and an award-winning recyclable glass bottle!

With the flurry of award ceremonies having just past, we would like to mention how well the year ended for Gloji at the Penta Awards. Penta Awards is the one and only annual world competition dedicated to packaging design in all its forms. The international jury presided over by Gerard Caron crown the best packaging designs and Gloji won the Gold Penta Award in the Beverage Category. Other winners included the Viktor and Rolf designed Piper Heidseck Champagne – Rose Sauvage, Coca-Cola’s Aluminium bottle designed by the Anglo-American Turner Duckworth agency and Japanese company Dentsu Kyushu for their very elegant Yaoki sake. Being surrounded by such big names, the juice that makes you glow, had a glow of it’s own!!
